About

Jake Lewis Design is a design-build operation based in Austin, TX. I design, fabricate, and build — brass, bronze, copper, walnut, quartzite, steel — with a tight circle of collaborators I trust completely.

I got into this work because I care about how things are made. Not how they look in a rendering or a mood board — how they actually feel when you put your hand on them. The weight of a brass rail. The grain in a walnut drink rail. The way copper changes color over the first six months.

Every phase runs through me — design, 3D modeling, permitting, fabrication, and installation. On commercial builds, I act as general contractor and pull my own permits. On residential work, I collaborate directly with homeowners and architects. No middlemen, no handoffs. One craftsman, one vision, one standard.

My wife Emily helps shape design direction and brings an artist's eye to every project we take on. I work closely with Robert Abdallah, one of Austin's premier blacksmiths and welders, on custom metalwork and architectural fabrication. Destiny Augustine — fabricator, painter, and designer extraordinaire — brings a level of craft and creative energy that elevates every project she touches.

Past projects include the full design and build of Parley, the remodel of Here Nor There, the buildout at In Plain Sight, and a wide range of bespoke home bars, renovations, and custom furniture pieces across Austin.

Every project is built by hand with the kind of attention that only comes from a shop that treats each piece like it matters — because it does.
